A Closer Look

Human inquisitive nature means we always aim to get closer to understand. Whether this be through a microscope or telescope we always peer in to detail, trying to investigate. Scientists did this for the first time through a microscope, making presumptions about what they saw and using these to create educational scientific illustrations. Based on the idea of misinterpretation I took an object magnified it and produced an extremely detailed magnified drawing. This was then sent to scientists to be analysed. I was then told an inaccurate perception that would become the subject for the next magnified view that I would then send to a scientist. The work become a series of misinterpretations, changing in size to alter how close the viewer got to the extreme detail.
